The author never said what the three words on the postcard were. It could be anything! But from the prologue we are supposed to figure it was something that devastated Park, right? So that means it wasn't 'I love you.'
I feel like "I love you" could have devastated him- how could she love him and keep him at such a distance for so long? I know something like that would tear me up, personally!
I feel like it's "I love you", but if it was supposed to be devastating, then maybe it was "Thank you, Park" or something like that? That would hurt after all they've been through. But still, I'm keeping it at "I love you".
