mkfs I agree about the letdown. The Navidson record was compelling, as was the story of its discovery (but not the story of Johnny Truant, which just came across as lame posturing). The ending had no meat to it: it was entirely unsatisfying form a narrative standpoint.

As a work, though, I admire the craft of House of Leaves, and feel that ultimately, it is worth reading.
