If you make it that far - you may as well finish it. Honestly the entire last 200 pages or so are a bit of a chore to get through.
I hope you finished the book and made up your own mind about it. I'm convinced that those who harshly criticize this part of the novel for being incoherent, inconsistent, vulgar, tasteless, straight-up pornographic and/or even pedophilic (not sure anyone claims that in this thread, but I've heard it from others over the years), have either have not read the sequence; read it, but forgot it and misremembered it; or read it, but profoundly misinterpreted it.
