I know most wouldn't agree with me. But I liked Butch and Marissa for what they represented. A new couple made up from the unrequited love interests of two other characters to make a new love match. To which I thought was great as I was getting a little tired of ALL the characters having hot for somebody in the group. But that other person barely knew they were alive romantically. I also liked Phury and Cormia cause they both truly were reborn from their original purposes and I loved that. As for Jane and V, I know most don't get it or liked that she didn't quite come back or get a save from V's mom. But at the same time, I felt like what really would have been the point of her coming back to "normal"? I mean they didn't want kids? He can't feed from her? And V's mom deals in folks making a sacrifice in order to accomplish anything. And in a way giving up her life was Jane's sacrifice in order to come back. As for Rhage and Mary, I just think that was a bit of a lesson in learning to grow up from the Scribe Virgin. But she did get her sacrifice from them too in regards to Mary not being able to have kids. And I guess the SV figured too that if there is a woman out there brave enough to tame "Godzilla" then why shouldn't they be together? As for Tohrment, one of my fave characters. I honestly have to say Ward totally pissed me off when she changed him in his book and made him someone I didn't quite know. And it was just ugh to be honest.
I'm further along in the series now (Book 9) and I think Rehvenge's story (Lover Avenged, Book 7) has become my favorite of them all. I don't know how I feel about Payne and Manny's story (book 9, Lover Unleashed) so far. Vishous seems to be dominating what is supposed to be Payne's story.
Ward has a way of doing that at times with her characters. Which is what I don't like. Other characters had their moment in the sun. Quit stealing the show from someone else, geeze. >_<
I agree. She also seems to abandon certain characters after their books are done too. Like Rhage and Zsadist. You don't get to see that much of them anymore.
I've heard rumors that Rhage and Mary are to get a novella with them adopting a baby at some point. And Z does have a novella about him, Bella and their baby. But yea I guess she feels their issues are resolved so they are on a even keel. Which I'm kind of glad about. Cause I'm a little over some of the character freak outs later on in the books or suddenly having issues with things that seemed ok a while ago.
