Do you think they do the play because it has less of an impact? Do you think they are shielding students or do you think it is a way to make the material more interesting to students, especially boys who wouldn't typically pick up a girl's diary?
Your absolutely right, i think they are shielding the students and making it more age appropriate, and even more so to the younger readers.
