Kristine Finnick had a choice. Katniss told the remaining Star Squad what she was about and told them they could leave.

Katniss is full of guilt for all the lives lost in which she was either directly or indirectly involved. They haunt her nightmares. Especially see the dream she has in the last chapter when she wakes to hear shovelling noises that turn out be be Peeta digging in her garden.

Ever considered that it was Gale's guilt that ended the relationship? That Gale doesn't even visit her in hospital before he could possibly know how she feels about it is very telling. She is as much a reminder to him of what happened, as he is to her.

He actually makes the decision for her and then walks away from the mess. Last heard of, he has a fancy job in District 2 and is on TV occasionally. A better fate, perhaps, that sharing the exile of a badly scarred girl with PTSD?

camie Katniss holds grudges. So many bad things happened to her, she just needs someone to blame for everything. She'd probably blame herself if she might have killed one of gale's siblings, and might even commit suicide. I don't think she's selfish. She just can't hold all the blame for everything on her own shoulders.

Haiya Ok rethinking my opinion, I do understand why, but I'm still annoyed on his sudden leaving and Katniss not trying to stop him
