Ladynight I understand how you feel, for me was worst because this was the first book I read by the author and now I am not sure whether or not I want to read something else from him. Is the alchemist good?

Abhimanyu Singh Baghel The Alchemist is probably his best work. I would say, you must read The Alchemist. Rest's up to you. :)

Rebecca The alchemist was based on a story by Jorge Luis Borges, he didn´t actually come up for the idea for that book, just all the boring details.

Suchandra The Alchemist is good..It starts off well and somewhere in between it becomes repetitive...I actually had left the book in between because I was bored. But a friend of mine who had read the complete story made me read the remaining portion till the end and yes I was surprised pleasantly by the end of the story...it's a far better work than 11 minutes...all you need to relish The Alchemist is patience...

Rebecca I have read it and it is terrible. He did not invent the ending, he stole it, which would be absolutely fine if he gave credit, but he preferred to pass it off as his own.

Though not his, the central idea is a good one, and the repetition helps bring home the point, but I can't forgive him for stealing the story and then not even writing well.

Ahmad Qassab Bashi I read a lot to him and like everyone I would say his best book is The Alchemist. As for the other books (which I read) they are all not good and I did not like them. I would say the Alchemist is a must read for sure I enjoyed it alot and I recommend you to skip the other books.

I agree. I loved the Alchemist but I´m afraid to read another book by him after this waste of time.
