I agree, there are some books that would translate into a tv series better, but I think perhaps some aren't as eager for it because the studios chop and change shows so often, and cut good shows for mediocre shows each season.

At least with a movie they're almost guaranteed a pay day where with tv it's gotta pass pilot, then be ordered to series, then survive the season and then gain a second or third season.
