Also an excellent point. I try not to compare characters to others when i am reading, but there are times when it almost seems like the author was directing the audience that way.
There is one thriller author who copycats another thriller author. His work is almost identical...almost plagiarized, with names changed and the setting changed, but the exact same story. Interestingly, they are both famous. Makes for boring reading. Sells.
