Actually, I thought Bella was his redemption. Remember in Midnight Sun, when he enters her room? He's fighting with himself to leave, thinking there's no way a soul-less monster like him should intrude in her life. He's not worthy of her love. But when she speaks his name, he realizes that he loves her, and decides to give himself the chance to win her love. That is his redemption, and he didn't need Renesmee for that.
