I know what you mean about Neil Gaiman's voice. I listened to my favorite NG book, Neverwhere and it was when I was new to the work of Neil Gaiman. I loved loved loved listening to that book and then I realized it was him narrating it. Just made the experience all the better knowing he was reading me his own book the way it should be read.I started books on tape to ease my commute to work and am now addicted to it. Of course some books you just have to read yourself.
I got the audio version from the library and it was a whole different enlightening experience than when I read it. Having the author read it the way he meant it to be read and with that delicious voice of his was just phenominal! I have a whole new understanding of the book and I love it now.
