JO Haha that did not creep me out at all, who knows what that says about me. Seeing Ursula and father through the childs eyes made it creepy.

Steven I think the intention of The Ocean is to be reread. The underlying theme being memories and how we distort them. How many people remember the narrator seeing the red and yellow lacquered bridge while he walked through the orange forest? If you reread it you'll pick up the things like that. I read it three times and was surprised at what I missed each time.

Taylor I agree with Steven. It should be reread. However, it's in Gaiman's style to distort reality and put it through a very nihilistic point of view. I liked it because of that factor. And also because you have the innocent kid narrating for his older self to remember. It's a classic, in the sense that it makes you wonder what happened to your own childhood.

Lynn Loved it and love NG. The Graveyard Book is my favorite though, so far. I have not yet read Anansi Boys or American Gods.
