Carolina Morales Yes, indeed! And when St. John is upset because she does not want to marry him and join him in India as his wife she begs him to be her friend again and he refuses she grieves but does not change her mind. ABout the doll you mentioned above - yes, her loves as a child were the most powerful ones: Bessie, Miss Temple and Helen Burns. So easy to relate and heartbreaking at the same time! Jane Eyre is a timeless classic, for sure.
