I will definitely be reading all the 7 books. But tell me what else would you term the Dany and Arya parts if not an unnecessary drag? Only Jon and Imp narratives are still any good.
i think it's completely subjective. was ambivalent to dany in book one, liked her in books two and three, but was bored stiff by book five. arya for me has always been an interesting character arc, and jon since becoming lord commander has been a bit of a let down overall. even tyrion whom i enjoy thoroughly had too many chapters in book five.
We won't know what the Dany and Arya parts are about until the end. I suspect those two will have huge roles to play before the story is over. But understanding how they go from being innocent, naive little girls to the powerful women they will be is worth reading.
If you disagree, just skip over their POV chapters. You'll know you're right if you can finish the series without getting confused.
