OH I LOVE RAGE!! Lol sorry, got super excited for a second... I always have to tell people that IT is my favorite NON Dark Tower book! haha Drawing of the Three is one of my all time favorites!
Hi Stepheny! Rage was the first King book I read, when I was a kid before I knew he was Richard Bachman. My husband "procured" me a copy recently for Christmas (the single paperback version that is off the market). Drawing of the Three is great....I guess my favorite DT is either the original (it was so pure and pulpy) or Wolves of the Calla.
Yeah, I have 2 copies of the Rage paperback and 3 copies of the Bachman book collections! I am a bit of a collector! haha! DOTT was my absolute favorite. I loved Roland having Roland in our world. I loved Eddie's struggle with addiction...the beach scenes will always stick out to me! Wolves of the Calla was great though too! I just don't like Susannah so her whole Mia/pregnancy thing was exasperating to me! LOL
Well I'm glad you said it! I wasn't crazy about all that Sue/Mia hoopla either. A bit much for me. I agree, the beach scenes were so vivid. It's great that you have been able to collect some of these things. I'd probably be more of a collector myself but I have two teenagers (hence the YA fiction I write) so their stuff is already pushing us out of the house! Have managed to tuck away a lot of my older King stuff though.
Yeah, I am a King fanatic. I have the Salem's Lot Illustrated edition, Wind Through the Keyhole First Edition, Illustrated... I have several first edition books of different books...I am a bit of a freak. Haha. I doubt any of it is worth a lot, but my obsession doesn't need to make sense to anyone else. LOL ;)BTW, I love YA stuff! Harry Potter is my absolute favorite thing in the world! The DT series is a close second though! haha
No, you're right. Any crazy obsessions we may have need only make sense to us. I love YA, too. I spent some time writing and publishing literary fiction, but for me, it just wasn't any fun. YA seems to have all the magic we want to see in the world, and none of the illusions. It's a nice balance.
Also: Carrie, The Green Mile, Pet Sematary...to name a few..it'sa hard to put a finger on just one like with this author. All his books are really good
