It was. She also wrote to Billy Collins, Annie Proulx, and James Fenton, among others. It was a great job.
Christoph Koch is another great mind working in the field on consciousness. He used to co-operate with prof. Crick ( the one of Watson-Crick model) but as their approach did not bear any fruit, he turned to neural Darwinism as well.
His book about how he, an exercising Catholic became an agnostic is a beautiful read.
You cannot help but love the guy.
