Mariah Thanks, Patrick! Some colleagues recently had a reading group on Thinking Fast and Slow, and though I wasn't able to take part, it's been on my to-read list. Thanks for your thoughtful suggestions. This is a fascinating/broad topic and it's great when writers can really capture that!

John McR Anything by Oliver Sacks. There's also a memoir by an autistic man who perceives a lot through color. "Blue" is in the title, but that's the best I can do right now. And it's not about neuroscience--just his experiences.

John McR Born On A Blue Day: Inside the Extraordinary Mind of an Autistic Savant
by Daniel Tammet (Author)

The 'savant' aspects of autism fascinate me.

Martti O I have a friend whose family carries the autistic trait. There are scientists, musicians and institutionalized madmen. Having an autistic aggressive child is a heavy burden for the family.
