Linda I agree. I get library books. I just stopped reading one after about reading 50% because it was only frustrating me. The author's style did not do anything for me.

I feel exactly the same way. Loved a lot of Grisham's earlier works, but he's become very spotty lately. If you're apprehensive about this one, don't do it. Don't waste your time like I did. The book, quite frankly, is pure, unadulterated crap. This is hack writing. There's no real plot, it's ridiculously unbelievable how the main character strings everyone along while presenting absolutely no proof that he knows anything, yet everyone trips over themselves to assist.

And Grisham actually admits in the afterword that he did no research. It's a lazy book from a now-lazy writer who knows no matter what crap he puts out, people will buy it due to the "Grisham" name on the cover.

Seriously. It's a bad, bad book.

I would borrow the books from the library. They do purchase the books.

Sandra Ianuzi I enjoyed The Racketeer and didn't expect it to end the way it did - so the surprise ending made me smile!
