Michael S. Great point, Lilly. I agree. I'm reading this to my kids now and I keep finding things I didn't even catch the last time I re-read this.

Hannah I grew up with The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings; these books will always have a place in my heart - even the movies are wonderful and get the gist of the books. It is possible that those who relate more closely to the characters are people who have gone through the philosophical wilderness that Tolkien so heavily draws upon. Although, I do respect the opinions of those who don't enjoy the books - they are certainly something that requires a touch of personal experience and relativity to enjoy.

Álvaro Carrasquel Lilly, I totally agree with you!

Sarah I agree with you all the way :)I've read Twilight and I've read The Hobbit. Obviously Tolkien knew how to write a good book. This stuff nowadays is nowhere near as good as the old stuff.
