I'm not sure which box office you're looking at, but the earnings barely broke even with what they spent to MAKE the movie... It actually did /very/ poorly at the box offices.
Also. It definitely did NOT make 50 mil on opening night, don't know where you got that number. It barely grossed 60 mil worldwide for it's entire run.
