Lewis Carroll's was edited after he died from `nevar` (raven backwards) to never so we don't no if it was a spelling mistake or a pun.
I would have thought however the righter of one of England's most famous and much loved children's stories would know how to spell never :)
just a bit of trivia hope you don't mind :)
