My comment is How can you NOT read it? Anne's voice will stay with you long after you read this book which is a classic in both literature and history. Have fun reading
I agree Elizabeth. The book gives a voice to the millions of Jewish people caught up in the Holocaust but who we read about but know almost nothing about. PBS recently presented a version of it (by recently I mean a few years ago). It was the best dramatization of it that I have seen. I would recommend it to everyone as a companion to the book.
YES YES read this book. Everyone should read this book and they should also view one of the many movies made about this young girl...after they read the book!

"Nothing you haven't read before'? What - how can you say that? How many first-hand accounts of those who died in the Holocaust have you read? Do you not understand the context in which this diary was written and how amazing it was that, given all the obstacles, it was even published?! Get off your high horse, and understand this diary as a diary is special because of the times it was written in and it's survival.
