David Crain Excellent point, very succinctly stated! I couldn't agree more. It's human nature to desire our own good first, above all others. However, as we see in the story, and as we should know from personal experience, this does not make such desire right.

Elizabeth Newton Exactly I agree. And this is the point of the whole story! Without Edmund, there is no great sacrifice of Aslan later on. There is no victory. If Edmund was not in this story, we could not relate to it at all.
