Melanie Oh please! Paris was a wuss and Helen may have had a face that could "launch a thousand ships", but they were just being manipulated by fickle goddesses. I don't, however disagree with your assessment of R&J.

That's a very good point... is the question classic literature couple, or just couples in general?

Melanie The question is stated 3 ways: favorite classic couple, favorite literary pairing, and love story you love the most. I think that leaves a wide field.

For sure! My favorite love story would probably be Ron and Hermione. They had the awkward friendship, the I-hate-you phase, and then spur of the moment kiss that everyone knew was coming.

Kathy I tend to agree about Romeo and Juliet. They were probably just flirting some until the parents got involved and then of course it was mad, passionate, everlasting love.
