This without a doubt. I believe Wuthering Heights to be one of the most overrated books of all times...

message 2: by Aisling (new)

Aisling O' I totally agree, honestly I hate reading a book where you want the murder the main characters- Jane wins every time! No one can be as inspirational nor as apiring as Jane. Jane isn't perfect far from it yet you love her!

message 3: by Awais (new)

Awais khurshid its not only my point of view but worlds best literary personalities that Emily came in this world only for writing Wuthering Heights.....

message 4: by Jolie (new)

Jolie Suarez gosh...

message 5: by Deb (new)

Deb Definitely Jane Eyre. I also hated Wuthering Heights, but I read a good "sequel" to it called HThe Sory of Heathcliff's Journey Back to Wuthering Heights by Lin Haire-Sargeant

message 6: by Kathleen (new)

Shreyasi wuthering heights!!!!!!!!!!

message 10: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Jane Eyre definitely. I couldn't finish Wuthering Heights, it frightened me too much.

message 11: by Jolie (new)

Jolie Suarez how???

message 12: by Sheila (new)

Sheila The power of suggestion with the ghosts. I'm hyper suggestible. Couldn't even read Dante's Inferno and Picnic at Hanging Rock, the film frightened me too.

message 13: by Jolie (new)

Jolie Suarez ya, i dont like the thought that people who died before you can watch yo at any point in your life.

message 14: by Barbara (new)

Barbara Jayne Eyre gets my vote......Withering Heights was a little but too heavy for me, I didn't like Heathcliffe.

message 15: by Barbara (new)

Barbara I meant WUTHERING Heights.....ha ha.

message 16: by Laurie (new)

Laurie Jane Eyre is my favorite. Enjoyed Wuthering Heights but not as much.

message 17: by Anne (new)

Anne Schaetzke I liked Jane Eyre much more.

message 18: by Oen (new)

Oen Jane Eyre is only one of the al time greatest books in the English language. It is exponentially better than Wuthering Heights to the same degree that JS Bach is better than Beethoven.

message 19: by Thomas (new)

Thomas Paul Jane Eyre. I agree with those who hated Wuthering Heights. I wouldn't read it again unless there was a cash reward involved.

message 20: by Sandi (new)

Sandi Knapp Me neither Thomas. This has to be the worst damned book in history. After reading it, i wanted to walk down to the river with a pocket full of rocks.

message 21: by Tracey (new)

Tracey Grindle Absolutely Jane Eyre. I love the romance, the language and the way the reader gets dropped into Jane's life and lives every moment with her.

message 22: by Peg (new)

Peg Jane Eyre, as far as I am concerned. A great read, any time. Heights is too brooding!

message 23: by Jackie (new)

Jackie Jane Eyre is the best book ever written in my opinion.

message 24: by Kymberly (new)

Kymberly MacAgy I have to agree with you. I found Wuthering Heights to be very disappointing, but love Jane Eyre.

message 25: by Kathy (new)

Kathy Kattenburg LOL! I love this! I vote for Jane Eyre, too. I admit, it's a bit unfair for me to do that, because I re-read Jane Eyre only a couple of months ago, and I read Wuthering Heights only once, and that was probably about 40 years ago, but there you go, life is not always fair.

message 26: by Gillian (new)

Gillian Pennington hahahah it was going to be my next read, but now i'm having some second thoughts ;)
