Hmm. See, now I'm not sure if I read the whole story or not. I need to go find a library ASAP.
Yeah, it's pretty funny actually, in the edition that was eventually published in America with the last chapter there is a great introduction by Burgress and a short preface from the editor talking about the changes and they have totally opposite moods.
Which is what you just said, wow. But still, the contrast between the editor's and the author's notes is noteworthy. (no pun intended [ok, maybe a little])
