Totally agree. Glad you pointed it out to me because the fact that Pat was coming across as slightly retarded wasn't sitting right with me either.
Thank you. I tried to articulate just that in my discussions and review, but you did a much better job. Someone very close to me is bipolar and it's difficult to understand, but it's a mood disorder--it doesn't make you talk or view the world like a child. Really bothered me. But after the "reveal" I got unstuck and enjoyed the final pages.
I just finished the book not 10 minutes ago and felt unsettled by Pat's diagnosis! I saw that several websites described him as bipolar. If he were bipolar he would would have likely been on medication and/or seeking therapy in order to be as successful as he was before apart time. I agree that is most likely TBI brought on by the blow to the head from Nikki!
Yes i agree it is very unclear i wasn't sure either what happened to him but yeah it was caused to to a hit on the head that's which was one of the main cause he is like that also what he saw nikki cheating on him. Yes its very motivating to see him struggle but still go for that silver linning very inspiring and Tiffany is very sweet and its nice how they understand each other and how she writes the letters to him the whole time.
