I'm with you, no sequel to the book but I would like to see a remake of the film. It's good, it just aged badly.
I wouldn't even call it good; it's campy and cheesy and fun, which is what makes it worth watching. I would love to see a serious attempt at an adaptation, one that doesn't gut the novel completely and has the same menacing vibe to it as the novel. Oh and an R rating is necessary too.
