yes, persevere. it will be worth it. i felt the same way, but she really makes the characters so multi layered, and the sex just isn't for the sake of sex, there is a reason. there is plenty of plot twists and turns that keep you guessing. At first I didn't like Soren or Kingsley, but you should read the 3rd book the prince. Try to give the series a chance, you will enjoy the writing style.

yes i gave up too, maybe I'll give it another go ... it seemed like hard work, but perhaps I wasn't in the right mood.
