I agree with most of that. A well articulated argument. Well done.
The pearl would have been destroyed when Katniss was burnt. If not, most likely discarded with her burnt clothing. I had served it's purpose anyway of representing the absent Peeta.
Finnick's death showed the waste and tragedy of war. It it were only periphery characters who died it would have been a cop-out and not had nearly as much poignancy.
I liked the way you put it. The vocabulary used is very convincing. And I completely agree with you
