But... Dr. Cullen IS A DOCTOR!!! Anyway, the more I think about the book, the more I realize this series is a spoof on vampires.
Not to mention the end of book one. Edward spends the entire book telling Bella how it is nearly impossible for him to stop himself from guzzling up all of her blood, but when she's lying in a pool of it, Edward lamely sucks the venom from her veins and none of the other vampires really seem to notice the blood at all. Next book, she gets a paper cut and hell breaks loose. Yeah, sounds convincing.
Bella's blood smells better than the other humans, remember? Her blood smells the best to Edward. Since Bella's blood smells so good and Jasper has the least control, his instincts told him to go drink her blood. Edward pushed Bella out of Jasper's way to protect her and then the others had to stop Jasper and help him get in control of himself. When Edward pushed Bella into the wall, she broke a lot of glass, which made a long cut in her forearm, which is why there was so much blood.

I don't think that the drama over Bella's paper cut means that they couldn't be around blood ever. At school, they would be on guard for that. At home they are not.
Alice would be able to look into the future when Jasper (since he's the only one who really had trouble with that) decided to go to school for the day and see if it would be alright.
Also, I doubt there's alot of scraped knees in high school.
Personally, I think the bigger problem is the amount of blood that comes from Bella's paper cut... In the movie, you'd think she hit an artery, lol
