Thank you!! I was trying to figure out the same thing. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED the book and gave it a great review and 5 stars but then later I started thinking back and I couldn't get that part off my mind. I do feel like the ending was rushed. Of course, I just made up my own back story for that whole scenerio. LOL.
I too was wondering why the seemingly quick change of heart by Ian's mother. She was such a self-centered and cold character, it just seems improbably that she would do such an about-face.
I totally agree Janne S! I still loved the book but it had potential to be even better if the ending hadn't been left with so many loose ends.
