I had alot of the same thoughts you did. It isn't a "feel good" book. It made me really think how another species would picture our human race and how we should look at ourselves. Humans thought these souls were so bad, where in fac, they were loving, kind and compassionate and were trying to bring a better race than what we are. A very deep book.
