Rade Honestly, I loved the book big time. I read the book after watching Kubrick's movie and I did not know what to think about it. I guess there was not that much happening in the movie, yet the creepy score, Nicholson's creepy smile, and the feel of hotel was enough. The mini-series was done most likely for fans of the book since it has almost every important thing the book has. I think you might like it though. Give it a try if you find it on Netflix or your local store movie bin.

Keith Maltz i remember seeing the shining when it came out in theaters...i remember after the movie as i was walking back to my car i thought to myself "what the hell was that..totally different than the book..when i read the book i slept with the lights on...so i differently liked the mini series 100% more than the film..

Richard Knight I actually have a video on my page where I discuss why I think the movie is much better than the book. Swing by if you want to check it out.
