The movie version with Kevin Kline was really well done, in my opinion. I've yet to see it on stage, either.
Our community center does a lot of plays, too. I've even played in the orchestra of a few! Still no Shakespeare here, though! :(
I loved Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet, Taming of the Shrew for starters
There are some good video versions of MND but I would avoid the old one with Diana Rigg and Helen Mirren (60s or 70s) except that it is very campy and good for a few laughs.
