Mark Henrikson Now that was just funny. What's your take on Fifty Shades of Grey then?

Kelly Martin Have you actually read The Hunger Games? It's actually fantastic. And it's not just a "girl book"--which I actually find quite offensive, as you imply that girls are unintelligent and simple-minded--it's full of depth, analysis, and social commentary. If you haven't read it, please do, and please leave behind your condescending state of mind.

Ed Hunger Games and Ender's Game are both novels. I have spoken to several high school English teachers about Hunger Games and their opinion is on the book is positive. There are parallels between the books, as the protagonist in both is a child, conscripted for some sort of competition.

Ender isn't really conscripted to be in a competition. He's being trained to be an officer in the military. Those seem too different to me to be a similarity.

Ed It's been quite a while since I read Ender's Game, but my memory is that he was forced to enlist because his parents couldn't keep three children.

No, it was offerred to him after accidentally killing a classmate. He wasn't forced into it.
