Patrice Hoffman I thought that the language in the 6th story was pretty hard to follow. The words were incomplete and I had some trouble making out what words Mitchell was using with an apostrophe smack dab in the middle of it.

Mary My view was that that story came from a post-nuclear disaster time, with newly primitive societies, so the story should be thought of as a written-down version of something that would be recited orally - bottom line is it helps to "read it aloud" to yourself.

Patrice Hoffman Yeah the movie definately has to be entertaining and be easy to follow. The book is a lot less forthcoming. That's what makes the story so interesting. The reader trying to piece together what Mitchell intended then to.
