I just don't see it that way at all. I think she finally had enough peace in her life to realize that Peeta was the best choice for her all along. She always loved him but they needed time to heal together. I think Suzanne thought that explaining too much would take the beauty from that section. I thought it was a beautiful ending…but maybe she could have used a few more words. I'm hoping the movie will make it seem a bit brighter for people because I believe it was supposed to suggest that Peeta completed her, so to speak…. and that's huge.

I also think that as an ending it comes worryingly close to recommending convenience relationships which I don't think is a good move in a ‘young adult’ book.
