That's interesting, how come? I liked her at first because I thought she had spirit but I quickly decided she was a spoilt little brat. Not that it affected my enjoying the series within reason.
I didn't like Katniss at all, the one genuine thing I truly believed was when she volunteered as tribute. After that, I'm left in a fog of "did she ever really care?" You just get to that point that if Prim had never been chosen as tribute, Katniss would never have done anything. She certainly would never have chosen Peeta because she had this weird "debt" concept with him. I don't know she came off as sort of embittered towards the world from the get go.
Honestly she is an unlikable character through the whole series! I mean, I respect and admire her for being brave, strong, and smart, but I don't think I would like her. She isn't funny or kind or likable in any way! Why are these boys so obsessed with her?
^because the author decided it. nobody IRL would like Katniss.
I liked her in the hunger games then thought she was okay in catching fire and then in the start of mocking jay she was all right but by the end after everyone dies I thought it was unfaire that she got such a happy life.
The only person she loves most in the world, her sister Prim, gets called on reaping day. She sacrifices herself, even though she knows she will likely die in Prim's place. Of course she has mental flaws, I think we all would after what happened to her: a) Her sister gets reaped b) she is forced to go to a death match c) she has MULTIPLE close calls (almost taking her life) d) she watches a 12 year old die in her lap, and there is nothing she can do e) the love of her life does't love her f) she has to go BACK to the games a second time
g) her sister dies in front of her. Yes, Katniss is a flawed character, but aren't we all?
