I didn't realize it wasn't obvious for other people too. I got it right away, after he had the dream at Sam's house. I was really shocked and it made me feel so bad for him, I almost cried. The Perks of Being A Wallflower is an amazingly-written book and the shock at the end was well-captured by Steve Chbosky.
I just watched the movie but yes she did.
