True! But why would she listen to Cathy when it was clear that they had something going on before Edgar came into the picture and really did look like she was just being a selfish, jelous brat, which she kinda was...
True, she also was really nasty in the way she told Isabella :D
That's because Catherine was jealous that Heathcliff was paying attention to Isabella. Of course she WAS trying to warn her and I do think it was a sincere attempt, but she could be just as jealous as Heathcliff, even though she wouldn't admit it, even to herself. I think she secretly wanted Heathcliff to wait, pining alone, for her when she was ready to go back to him.
I gotta confess, I feel for her. Sure she was silly and a little spoiled (okay, a lot spoiled) but no one deserves harm and what was probably an abusive marriage, and rape. She's a fictional character, but I still feel bad for the girl.
