And if you look at many other stories of abuse these parents choose only one or two out of several children or one of two children to abuse so they can say "See I'm a good upstanding parent I never abused this child or these other children" the children who suffered much less abuse often have their heads in the sand and don't want to admit or face how bad it was for their sibling for a whole variety of reasons.
