Nancy I agree. I've read every book David Pelzer has written. I've even read one written by the brother who took his place in his mother's terror after David was removed from the house.

Katie It's very easy for me to believe people can treat others horrifically. Evil, true evil, exists in the world and to deny it is sticking your head in the sand. I believe many of his stories are exaggerated because of logic and reasoning of what a child can and cannot survive. I won't say he was never abused but I believe he greatly inflated his abuse.

Rachel Anything that is false or irrational should indeed be questioned, how strange to suggest otherwise based solely on social taboos. It's nothing to do with how easy or difficult it is to believe abuse occurs, I think most people on here would agree it definitely occurs, all too often, but that occurrence has no bearing on the truth (or lack thereof) of this particular case/author.

Mary His teachers and principal confirmed much of what was written. They said he was the most abused child they saw on their year's of teaching.
