What are you talking about? From the world cup? Only two teams competed, and simple answer maybe she knew more about those countries so she felt more comfortable writing about them.
Okay. I've found a list of World Quidditch Teams in the Harry Potter Lexicon that come from JK Rowlings' ancillary book "Quidditch Through the Ages." http://www.hp-lexicon.org/quidditch/q... LOTS of teams around the world!
Which include one from Massachussetts, one from Texas, three from Canada, and one in Peru as an example.
Wow I didn't know Rowling made any other books about harry potter other than tales of the beedle and the bard, awesome! At any rate the link shows that there were teams from Asia, Africa, and some of the other countries Feven mentioned so Rowling does show diversity.
Here's a little atlas showing all the European and African Teams: http://www.hp-lexicon.org/atlas/quidd...
Three books, Jasmine: Quidditch Through the Ages; Tales of Beedle the Bard; and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The Quidditch book and the Beasts book give all proceeds to the charity Comic Relief.
it can happen that the finale has just teams from europe, same thing happened at the last world cup in football, netherlands and spain!
