i too cried. the first book that made me cry
The Notebook was the first. Sobbed like tears would not stop and woke my husband up in bed; then I read the whole book to him and he started to weep. Of course the movie brought the same tears. I fell in love with Nicholas and of course Ryan and Rachael...read many of Nicholas books after that, but with a box of kleenex on hand!
I loved the book, but it didn't move me to a cry.

I agree. I think his each book has a unique nature,a unique theme, here I think it is change rooted from love.I mean, the change love cn make in ones life-directly.
I've only read the notebook but totally loved it. Must read more of his books
