You're so right about Richard Chamberlain being miscast! Ooooh . . . it was rather brutal for us who read the book! Blackthorn, in my mind, was a more vital and physiscal man than Chamberlain's whimpy emo. Just sayin.
I actually liked Richard Chamberlain in the role but today I think I would like to see Russell Crowe as Blackthorne. Who would you pick?
Russell Crow. Chamberlain was just too pretty for the role.
Agreed...Russell Crow would be more believable.
The problem is that Russell Crowe began his filming career ten years after Shogun was filmed...
