COMPLETELY agree- all the best parts of the novel were not included in the film!
The book is far better than the movie, The film is a good effort but it is too difficult to make the film feel personal, I didn't care about Susie Salmon, Ray or her family in the film. Although Susan Sarandon as her Gran is brilliant
Both movie and book brought me to tears because of the raw emotion depicted. In a way the movie portrayed the realism of having the faces of the characters come to life, whereas the book relies mostly on your active imagination to put the pieces together.
The best part about the film was the grandmother - i thought her character was spot on. Rest of the movie was disappointing - especially the "heaven" scenes. Best part of the book - the start, the middle the end...
