Shakespeare didn't care about his characters? Huh?
That's because Twilight is Meyer's own fantasy, she cared about her characters so much because she wanted to be her characters, to marry her characters, to be best friends with her characters. But enough mousey, weak, young, directionless women fell right into her fantasy so deeply because they shre the same fantasy.
If you want to really care about a character you develope them and give them space to turn into real people, not just cardboard cut outs.
LOOOL.. that's rich. Shakespeare didn't care for his characters?
Also, Samantha has made a valid point.
Rula, you are being sarcastic. Right??????
Shocking enough that they are comparing SM to Shakespeare, weird enough that I'm commenting on it. But somebody actually choosing SM because she "cares about the characters more than Shakespeare did" is just toooooooo much!!
btw, @samantha, excellent point!!
It's ironic cuz Romeo and Juliet wasn't even really considered romance but a satirical jab at teenage love.
Well just like Schroedinger's cat was supposed to be a jab at how speculative theoretical physics can be but we can thank the Big Bang Theory for giving people something joke about to try to sound smart, it's no different than this generation of highschool students saying Romeo and Juliet is their favourite romance because it's old so it must be deep.
