dany got burned in this book- all her hair burned off and her hands blistered.
Don't forget that magic began to come back into the world with the rebirth of the dragons (remember the alchemists in King's Landing producing the wildfire for the battle?). So, it's possible that his Targaryan blood is just reawakening too, but wasn't enough when he burned his hand.
