The mist probably only hides it from mortals. They have magic so they can see magical things like a Pegasus.
book one or two. He was looking at Manhattan from his room and saw a flying horse near the Empire state building. He commented that he thought he was imagining things.
The timing is interesting too. It must've been during the time when Percy was either following the quest he wasn't chosen for (The Titan's Curse) or in the last book of the series. Hmm.
So there is going to be a crossover short story in May! I read an excerpt. Can't wait for the whole story!
